Scott County Release Dates Compared
Projected, presumptive, minimum, conditional, maximum, and actual release dates are not interchangeable. A calculation can mark an earliest or outer point in a state sentence. A Parole Board date is prospective. The actual release event records when custody changed. Final discharge happens later if the person left prison under supervision.
Scott County Jail also presents a different setting from MODOC. A pretrial detainee often has no sentence to calculate. Bond can authorize release, but processing and other holds still matter. A county sentence requires staff to apply the judgment and valid custody credit. A transfer ends Scott County custody while starting another agency’s custody, so it must not be called a community release.
| Date or term | Meaning | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Sentence-I Minimum Release Date | MODOC’s calculated minimum date on an active sentence | The actual day the person left a facility |
| Sentence Maximum Release Date | Maximum release or sentence-expiration field | An earlier parole or conditional-release event |
| Presumptive parole date | A prospective date set through Parole Board action | Guaranteed release without later conditions or review |
| Conditional release date | Statutory release-to-supervision point for an eligible sentence | Final discharge from MODOC |
| Actual release event | The recorded date and type of the custody change | The end of later supervision |
| Final discharge | The end of MODOC supervision | The earlier date prison custody ended |
Find a Scott County Release Date
Begin with the last known custodian. The Scott County Jail route uses the jail, court judgment, and booking or release record. The state route uses MODOC data and Board information. A live county roster only confirms a current listing. Name absence cannot supply a release date because it may reflect a transfer, data lag, spelling issue, or application failure.
- Decide whether the person is in Scott County Jail, a MODOC prison, or another agency’s custody.
- For Scott County Jail, check current custody, then review Case.net for bond, judgment, sentence, or other court action.
- Call the jail at 573-545-3525 or 573-471-3530 for the release or transfer status.
- Request the booking record’s release date, time, disposition type, and receiving agency when an exact answer matters.
- For state custody, search by exact name or DOC number and use the documented MODOC sentence fields.
- Compare any prospective date with Parole Board action, sentence credit, holds, and later state records.
- Confirm release through an actual event or an originating-agency response.
The Scott County released inmate search gives the broader county, court, state, federal, and immigration path. A date lookup has a narrower task: identify which date is being read and whether it is still only a projection.
Note: A court order can authorize release, but jail staff must finish processing and resolve other valid holds before the person leaves.
Scott County MODOC Date Fields
The MODOC Offender Search is CAPTCHA-gated and limited to active offenders. It includes active parole and probation clients but excludes discharged people. Research did not verify a public result-screen label literally called “Projected Release Date.” The reliable official labels come from MODOC’s nightly Sunshine data.
The Sunshine file contains people currently or formerly under supervision and documents “Sentence-I Minimum Release Date” and “Sentence Maximum Release Date.” It also includes DOC ID, name, birth date, assigned place, cause number, offense and sentence county, sentence length, and a completed indicator. One person may appear in several rows because records can be associated with separate charges or supervision episodes.
Special maximum-date codes also need care. MODOC documents 99999999 for life, 88888888 for indeterminate or interstate circumstances, and 66666666 for a field assessment or investigation. These are not calendar release dates. The department also warns that historical data can be incomplete, inaccurate, or self-reported.
MODOC’s Sunshine Law page explains the official historical data route and field definitions. A targeted request to OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov can seek the public actual release, parole, conditional-release, or discharge event rather than only a calculated date.
Scott County Conditional Release Terms
Missouri section 558.011 divides many eligible term-of-years sentences into a prison term and a conditional-release term. For a sentence of nine years or less, the conditional-release portion is one-third. For a term over nine through fifteen years, it is three years. For a term over fifteen years, it is five years. The prison term is the remainder.
Conditional release means release from prison to supervision. It is not final discharge. The statute includes exclusions, including dangerous felonies and a fourth or later DOC remand in stated circumstances. A formula should never be applied without checking the actual conviction, sentence, prior commitments, statutory exclusions, and current state record.
The first statutory image below comes from the official Missouri Revisor page for the conditional-release split.

The statute supports the sentence structure, but the state event record still establishes the actual custody change.
Scott County Jail Custody Credit
Missouri section 558.031 governs credit for confinement related to the offense before the sentence begins. It uses sheriff certification in the calculation, and the sentence generally begins when the person is received into MODOC or other sentenced confinement. This is why adding the stated sentence length to the judgment date can produce the wrong answer.
For a Scott County sentence, ask the jail and court how the judgment and credit are being applied. The court record supplies the judgment, but jail or corrections staff maintain the custody calculation. Concurrent sentences run together in the manner ordered and allowed by law, while consecutive sentences can extend the total term. A corrected certification or amended order can alter the date.

The provision links verified time in custody to the sentence calculation without promising one release date for every case.
Scott County Good-Time Release Credit
Missouri section 558.041 authorizes additional credit for eligible MODOC offenders on the superintendent’s recommendation and under department policy. It applies to the current sentence. It can also be rescinded for violations. The law is not a universal promise of a fixed number of days per month.
The Parole Board Blue Book uses the term good-time administrative parole date for a conditional-release date reduced by granted credit and describes exclusions. That prospective date remains subject to the state record and later action. Good time during confinement is also different from earned compliance credit under section 217.703, which can reduce eligible post-release supervision after full compliant months.
For that reason, a Scott County inmate release date should not be calculated from an online sentence alone. Ask which form of credit applies, whether it was awarded, whether it was later lost, and whether a statutory minimum controls. The official good-time statute is shown in the source image below.

The statute confirms discretion and possible rescission, two reasons a projected date may move.
Note: Prison good time affects confinement, while earned compliance credit applies to eligible community supervision after release.
Scott County Eighty-Five Percent Rule
Missouri does not impose an eighty-five-percent minimum on every prisoner. Section 558.019 creates minimum prison terms for defined circumstances. For a dangerous felony as defined by law, it generally requires service of eighty-five percent of the court sentence before parole, conditional release, or another early release, subject to the statute’s current age and severity provision. Prior prison commitments can trigger other minimum percentages.
That distinction is central to a Scott County date check. Applying eighty-five percent to every state sentence would overstate many terms. Ignoring it where the statute applies would produce an early date. The exact offense, judgment, prior commitments, exclusions, and current statutory text all matter.
A hearing date does not override the minimum. The Missouri Parole Board may assess parole under section 217.690, but eligibility and release remain subject to the sentence and governing statutes. Board guidelines do not guarantee a specific exit date.
How Missouri Calculates Scott County Release
Scott County release calculations combine several independent rules. Custody credit under section 558.031 can account for related confinement before the state sentence begins. Section 558.011 structures eligible conditional release. Section 558.041 permits discretionary good time. Section 558.019 can impose a minimum prison term. Section 217.690 gives the Parole Board release authority.
MODOC then reports minimum and maximum sentence fields through its Sunshine data. These values remain calculations or sentence markers. No single field proves the date the person walked out. The actual event may be parole, conditional release, transfer, sentence expiration, or another lawful custody change. Final discharge can come after a period of supervision.
This combination is the distinctive Missouri issue behind the Scott County inmate release date. It explains why a simple arithmetic answer is unsafe. The correct result reconciles the judgment, certified custody credit, sentence structure, applicable minimum, Board action, state data, and actual event.
- Detainer
- A request or hold from another authority that can prevent a community release or cause a transfer.
- Presumptive parole
- A prospective Board date that remains subject to conditions and later action.
- Conditional release
- The supervised statutory portion of an eligible sentence.
- Discharge
- The final end of MODOC supervision rather than the earlier prison exit.
Why Scott County Release Dates Change
A release date can move when the legal record, credit calculation, institutional record, or Board decision changes. Some factors move the earliest possible date. Others prevent the person from leaving for the community even when one sentence is complete.
| Factor | Possible effect on release |
|---|---|
| Corrected jail credit | Changes how much related pre-sentence confinement counts |
| Concurrent or consecutive sentences | Changes how multiple terms combine |
| Good-time award or rescission | Can reduce or restore confinement time for an eligible MODOC sentence |
| Statutory minimum | Blocks parole or other early release until the required term is served |
| Parole Board action | Can grant, deny, reconsider, extend, cancel, or rescind a prospective date |
| New order or detainer | Can change the sentence or move the person into another custodian’s control |
| Conduct or release-plan condition | Can affect credit, Board action, or readiness for a planned release |
| Data correction | Can revise a previously displayed minimum or maximum field |
Weekend timing is not a separate verified Scott County rule. The jail operates around the clock, but no official source gives a fixed release hour, weekend processing schedule, exit door, or family waiting area. Call for a particular case and avoid promising that a calculated date equals a pickup time.
Confirm a Scott County Release Date
For county custody, obtain the Scott County booking or detainee record and ask for release date and time, disposition type, and receiving agency when transferred. Case.net can support the court side, but it does not certify the minute jail processing ended. For state custody, request the actual release, parole, conditional-release, or discharge event from MODOC rather than relying only on the minimum or maximum field.
MOVANS can provide a useful alert for a custody change. Current Scott County local-jail registrations use SMS or email, while MODOC and court events follow their own registration paths. The Scott County VINELink release check explains the new MOVANS process and its May 2026 change.
Resolve conflicts by favoring the originating agency and the newest dated record. If the county says transfer, follow the named receiving agency. If MODOC shows active parole, prison custody ended but supervision did not. If the active MODOC search has no result, remember that discharged people are excluded and use the historical data or request route.
